Ignatius didn’t know if the life in Christ would keep him in peace. I see twice in my life where God beckoned to a more consecrated life of prayer. My youth to a cloistered order and post divorce to a single life. And now again. I am hopeful that another before felt the same tugs of uncertainty.

That I failed both calls brings me shame and close to despair. Dare I hope still for that special union with my God and Creator.
